Our mission
A new direction, built through skills.
Swerve Academy is developing opportunities for individuals facing barriers to employment to acquire practical skills, build professional confidence, and pursue careers in HVAC/R and other skilled trades.
Why we exist
Why Swerve Academy was established
Skilled trades offer stable, well-paying, essential work, yet many capable people struggle to find the training and the first opportunity that lead there. Swerve Academy was established to help build that pathway.
We are a Colorado nonprofit corporation working to develop a practical, hands-on HVAC/R training program and related opportunities.

“A person's past does not have to define their future.”
Employment barriers
People can face many barriers to steady work: limited access to training, gaps in work history, lack of tools or transportation, and more. Swerve Academy is being developed to serve people facing such barriers.
Why practical education matters
Skilled trades are learned by doing. Hands-on instruction builds both competence and confidence, and gives people something concrete to bring to an employer.
The importance of second chances
An important part of our mission is creating second-chance opportunities for people with felony convictions. Swerve Academy is not limited to any one group, and we do not assume anything about any individual's background.
Accountability and responsibility
Opportunity is built, not given. We expect personal accountability and professional responsibility, and we intend to treat everyone with dignity and respect.
The value of skilled trades
HVAC/R technicians keep homes, hospitals, food supply chains, and businesses running. It is rewarding, in-demand work that rewards skill and reliability.
Our long-term vision
We aim to grow from an HVAC/R program into a respected skilled-trades academy, with strong connections to employers and the community. We are at the beginning of that road, and we welcome people to build it with us.
